Guruvayur Temple is a Hindu temple complex located in Guruvayur, a town in the Thrissur district of Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan, a form of Lord Vishnu with the face of Lord Krishna. The temple is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in India, attracting thousands of devotees every year. It is believed to be one of the 108 most important divya desams (holy abodes of Lord Vishnu) in India.

According to legend, the temple was built by Guru (preceptor of the gods) and Vayu (god of the wind) on the orders of Lord Vishnu. The temple has a rich history, having been plundered and rebuilt several times over the centuries. The current structure dates back to the 16th century and was rebuilt after a fire destroyed the temple in the early 20th century. The temple is renowned for its stunning architecture, intricate carvings, and beautiful murals, which depict various scenes from the Hindu scriptures. In addition to its religious significance, the temple is also an important cultural center, hosting various festivals and cultural events throughout the year.
