Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam, located in the northern part of the country. It is a city rich in culture and history, with a vibrant atmosphere and beautiful architecture. One interesting fact about Hanoi is that it has been the capital of Vietnam for over 1,000 years. It was first established as the capital of the Dai Viet empire in the 11th century under the rule of Emperor Ly Thai To. Its name, Hanoi, actually means 'between the rivers' as it is situated between the Red River and its tributary, the To Lich River.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Hanoi is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Ho Chi Minh was the leader of the Vietnamese independence movement and the first president of Vietnam, his preserved body is on display in the mausoleum. Another interesting place to visit is the Temple of Literature, which was built in 1070 and is dedicated to Confucius. It is the site of Vietnam's first university and is considered a symbol of Hanoi's academic culture. Hanoi is also known for its delicious cuisine, particularly its pho, a noodle soup that is a staple of Vietnamese cuisine. The city has numerous street food markets where visitors can sample local dishes like banh mi, a sandwich made with French baguette and local ingredients.
