Hunstanton is a coastal town located in the county of Norfolk in the east of England. Situated on the edge of the Wash, the town is famous for its stunning coastline and unique striped cliffs that run along its stretch of beach. The town is also known as "Sunny Hunny" due to its reputation for sunny weather, which draws tourists from all over the country. The town's history can be traced back to the Victorian era when it was originally developed as a seaside resort. In the early 19th century, local landowner Henry Styleman Le Strange saw the potential of the area for tourism and began to develop the town's infrastructure, laying out its streets and building the seafront promenade. Today, Hunstanton remains a popular tourist destination, with a range of attractions including the Sea Life Sanctuary, the Oasis Leisure Centre, and the Hunstanton Heritage Centre. In addition to its historic and modern day attractions, Hunstanton is also home to a number of interesting natural features. The town is situated on the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is famed for its unspoilt beaches, rugged coastline, and diverse birdlife. The unique striped cliffs that run along Hunstanton's beach are composed of different layers of sedimentary rock, which create a colourful and distinctive appearance. At low tide, visitors can also see the ancient remains of a submerged forest, which dates back to the Bronze Age.
