Cambrils is a charming town located in the south of Catalonia, Spain. It has a population of approximately 38,000 people and it is known for its beautiful beaches, rich history, and delicious cuisine. The town has a long history, dating back to the Roman Empire. In fact, archaeological remains from the Roman era have been found in the area, including the remains of a Roman villa that was discovered in the nearby town of La Llosa. Later on, the Moors also left their mark on the town, and Cambrils played an important role in the Reconquista, the period when the Christian kingdoms of the north gradually regained control of the Iberian Peninsula from the Moors. Cambrils is now a popular tourist destination, especially during the summer months when visitors come to enjoy its beaches and water sports. However, the town has managed to maintain its traditional charm and visitors can still experience the local way of life by visiting the weekly market or taking a stroll through the old town. There are many Michelin-starred restaurants in the town, making it a foodie’s paradise with a focus on seafood. In addition to its history, beaches, and cuisine, Cambrils is also known for its festivals. One of the most popular is the Festa Major, which takes place in July and is a celebration of the town's patron saint, Sant Pere. During the festival, there are fireworks, concerts, and parades, and the town is alive with energy and excitement.
