Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is a historic plantation located on the Ashley River in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, it is one of the oldest plantations in the South and has a rich history spanning over 300 years. The plantation was once a major hub for rice production, using enslaved labor until the end of the Civil War. Today, visitors can tour the beautiful gardens, which include the oldest unrestored garden in the country, a variety of nature trails, and a petting zoo. The plantation also features a museum and several historic buildings, including the Drayton family home, which dates back to 1873.
