Zoo Boise
Zoo Boise, located in the heart of Boise, Idaho, is definitely worth a visit for animal lovers. The zoo first opened its doors in 1916 with just two black bears as its main attraction. Fast forward to today, 105 years later, and the zoo is now home to over 300 animals representing 100 different species.
Besides its impressive collection of creatures, Zoo Boise is known for its conservation efforts. The zoo is actively involved in over 80 conservation projects around the world, from saving animals in the Amazon rainforest to protecting sea turtles in the Caribbean. This makes the zoo an excellent destination for both education and entertainment.
One of the most popular exhibits at the zoo is the African Plains section, where visitors can get up close and personal with giraffes, zebras, and ostriches. The zoo also has a special exhibit showcasing animals native to Idaho, such as gray wolves and grizzly bears.
Another unique feature of Boise Zoo is its close proximity to Julia Davis Park, where visitors can take a stroll before or after their zoo visit.
