Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most famous landmarks in Los Angeles, California. It is a public sidewalk located on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, stretching for about 15 blocks. The walk has over 2,600 stars embedded in the pavement. Each star honors a prominent public figure who has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. The Walk of Fame was created in 1958 to honor celebrities in the entertainment industry. The idea was set in motion by E.M. Stuart, who was, at the time, the president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The first star was awarded to Joanne Woodward on February 9, 1960. Since then, thousands of stars have been added to the walk.

To find your favorite celebrity’s star, look for the bronze five-pointed stars that are embedded in the sidewalk. Each star is approximately 6 feet long and 3 feet wide. The bronze stars feature the name of the celebrity and their category, such as music, television, film, radio or theater. It is best to visit the walk during the day to see each star clearly, as they are hard to see at night. Also, plan your visit accordingly, as there are often large crowds of tourists. There are plenty of opportunities for a memorable photo with the stars.
