Grand Place, also known as Grote Markt, is a stunning medieval square located in the heart of Brussels, Belgium. The square is surrounded by opulent 17th-century buildings, adorned with intricate stonework and detailed architecture. The square is flanked by the towering King's House, the bread house, and the city's Town Hall, which dates back to the 1400s. In the center of the square stands a 16th-century statue of Saint Michael, giving the square a sense of grandeur.

Grand Place has played an important part in Belgian history. The square has seen countless political events and public ceremonies over the centuries. In fact, Grand Place was the site of a massacre in 1568, when Spanish soldiers attacked Brussels after a protestant revolt. It's also hosted royal weddings, celebrations and parades over the years.
